BEST CDJs i need help

Hey this is my first post here and I'm posting here because on dubstepforum and didn't get any replies that worked for me....I'm a lil desperate :trisad:



Okay so I just did a bit of research, about CDJs.

My budget is right around $500, preferably looking for an all in one but if I can get a full setup for around $500, thatd be amazing.


To get a setup that's half decent it seems like it's upwards of 2 grand! come on now, theres gotta be something thats at least alright for less than that!

I'm on the hunt for my first DJ machine, so I'm not even close to a pro, but everyone says that I should get a quality one, because if I get a ****ty one then I'll regret it later. I agree.

Controllers are a maybe, but I'd really love to go CDJ - controllers just seem, bleh - but if someone can reccomend me a good one for my budget (I don't have any software for it like Traktor so it should come with it or leave enough money over to get it) then I would consider.

I was originally going to get a Stanton SCS.4DJ, which is an all in one CDJ (also takes USBs), and that's $500, but then I watched a review, and it has to analyze the songs before it can play em and that takes 1/4 of the time of each song, which if I have a lot of songs on the USB/CD, would take forever, plus the SCS.4DJ can't even set hot cues, which is important to me.


All of the Pioneer stuff is WAY expensive. I'm really desperate here. Someone please help??? :( :( :(

Research hasnt yielded anything.....if you know anything about this stuff, please share i need all the info i can get :Q:
 
Okay, but what I don't have any DJing software....best software with the Denon controller? (probably Traktor right) but that costs $200 extra!
How much does the Denon cost?

Okay so if I save up for this, don't I need two of these plus a mixer?
Isn't it just better to go with pioneer if I'm spending that much? Cuz isn't pioneer way better...I heard Denons skip
 
No, pioneer isn't "way better". I hate hate hate that whole "industry standard" crap. The 3700 kills anything pioneer has ever made. When I said $1400, that price is for two of them. Yes you would still need a mixer, and yes you would need a DVS software system like Serato and Traktor. And despite what the general "reputation" is, products like Behringer, Denon, and Virtual DJ are much much better than people say they are.

And in my opinion, controllers are the future of DJing. CD players will be obsolete in the next few years. Everything is going to go MIDI and software based. Controllers are less expensive for everything they can do, and they don't have any moving parts, so they don't break down and wear out like CD decks and turntables do.

What type of DJ do you want to be? What do you hope to do with your gear? Do you want to just have something to DJ at parties? Or do you want to do serious events like corporate parties and weddings? OR do you want to be a club-type DJ?
The best advice I can give you is to not listen to what "everyone else" says about gear and software. 99% of people who trash Denon have never even used one. Its like a gang war. They own a Pioneer, so they automatically think Denon sucks. I hate that.
Don't an ignorant fool. If you can't go to a local store and try out the gear for yourself (and don't listen to the sales people... they are usually biased too), you should look for reputable reviews like Skratchworx.com.
You may have to search specifically for what you want to know, but don't listen to a bunch of forum posts about how this sucks and this is so awesome, try and decide for yourself. If you do need to hear people's opinions, get the opinions of people that OWN THE PRODUCTS. I will guarantee that almost 100% of the time when you hear "Virtual DJ sucks!" or "Denon skips!" the people saying that do NOT OWN THEM. You really need to hear someone who OWNS them to get an honest review of how they perform.
Here is a review of the 3700... tell me where it says that pioneer is better. Because it looks like they say that Denon beats just about every other player in every category. And Skratchworx is usually THE definitive review source for DJ gear, at least with the DJs that I know.
