I was looking online last night to see what's the best price i can get the Denon DN MC 6000 and came across this great deal. The store is Pro Audio Star. The site is proaudiostar.com. They called me back and told me the price brand new out the box with them is $669.00. No tax and free shipping.

Since they are in Brooklyn and i live in East Orange NJ i'll just go there and pick up one. Along with an Odessey case that has the laptop shelf built into it.
 
That's a fair price - below MAP, but still above dealer cost. Keep in mind that the MC-3000 is being introduced this month - it's the 2-channel version of this product and will have a lower price, probably just under $500.

Personally, I'd wait on this and see if you like the MC-3000 better. Also, keep in mind that any store that sells to you in person is going to collect sales tax. If you do buy this from Pro Audio Star, you'll save money by buying it over the phone.

I got you. I just like to have more then 2 channels in case if i want to use some other applications with it.

Of course the price has to be above dealers cost or how do they get to stay in business. Just like us. To stay in business we need to make a profit don't we? Another thing to consider is that Numark has introduced the NS6 which has some issues with it. They got to get the bugs worked out of it for it to be a good tool to use.

Some of us get better deals than others. It's all in who you know.

Why do we need to consider this? Your thread is about the Denon controller.

I don't know anybody from this store and all i say is make sure that the kinks are out of the new Denon 3000 before rushing to get one. Also make sure it's what you really want and don't just choose it because it's cheaper then the 6000.
 
Mix, I already own the Denon MC-6000... I'm not the one looking to buy one. That's you. The only reason I mentioned the upcoming MC-3000 is because a) you have a history of planning to buy things and you usually fall short due to money problems, partner problems, or something else, and b) because you may be able to negotiate a better price on the MC-6000 in a month or two, when everyone else is looking for the cheaper MC-3000.

I seriously doubt that the MC-3000 will have kinks... aside from losing the two extra analog mixer channels, it's no different from the MC-6000.
 
I just got a price for one. I can pick it up at their ware house for $600.00 in a box with a warranty. I can't wait!
 
The funniest part is my partner and the guy that's building us the new site think i'm going to be stuck in the basement playing with it. I told them i've got a life and i have other things to do too.

On my vacation from my day job i'll find time to have fun with it.
 
I agree with what B-Sharp is saying.
Once the 3000 comes out, the 6000 will have a price drop. I don't think it will be that much, since you guys are getting it below the average price (I bought mine for $799 in January), it won't come down that much... but it will be enough to make you wait a month if you want to save money.

Also, the other difference is not just the loss of the 2 analog channels, it loses 2 midi channels as well. So this is a straight 2-deck version, no 4 decks on this one.

I prefer my 6000, thanks. :)

You'll still have 4-deck control with the MC-3000; the difference is that the control is layered over the mixer faders as well as the knobs and buttons. In 4-Deck mode, the mixing magic is handled from within your software and sent to the mixer via USB.

I've seen two cases for the MC 6000.

This goes back to that "laptop DJ perception" thread...

While I'd love to show up at an event with a great Denon, Pioneer, Hercules or other type controller in a nice Odyssey case with a laptop over it with either a sliding lid or a stand and nothing else on a table, is it enough "stuff" to be perceived as a pro? It's really really compact - maybe too much?

Yes I know...perception is mostly based on your performance.

For those that have that type of small simple setup, is it enough?

You can tell by looking at pictures of the MC-3000... there are "A" and "C" buttons on the left side, and "B" and "D" buttons on the right side. This is actually an improvement over the "Deck Change" buttons on the MC-6000.

I can honestly say that is. Mind you that I bought the Denon MC-6000 so I wouldn't have to lug around my big case with the Rane mixer and HC-4500 controllers when I did my monthly teen dance. Soon enough, I started bringing it to wedding receptions, first as a separate system for cocktail hour, and eventually as my main setup for jobs that required me to haul my gear upstairs. It was one of those upstairs weddings that resulted in a nice thank-you letter mailed to me from the mother of the bride with a check for $150 enclosed. Of course, the bride's mom was pleased with my overall performance - the mixing console I was using was of no importance to her.

The only thing I don't like about the Odyssey case designed for the MC-6000 is the lack of space for a good wireless mic system. Right now I have a Sennheiser G2 receiver stuck underneath the MC-6000, but there's just no space for proper placement of the antennas.
