An idiot in Manhattan is suing the photography firm who shot his wedding in 2003. The apparently missed the bouquet toss and last dance. The groom wants the photographer to pay to have everyone flown back in to re-create the event, then let another firm shoot those scenes. Oh yea, the woman he married has already divorced him. The photog charged $4,100. It will cost $48,000 to re-stage it...........if he ex-wife actually agrees to come back for the shoot.

The part that really galls me is that some idiot judge actually is allowing this thing to continue. It should've been tossed in a heartbeat. Fair warning boys/girls. It could happen to you.

Rick, did you even read the article? I just did and in the article it specifically mentions the only portion of the lawsuit that the judge is allowing to move forward is the "breach of contract" accusation. All of the other fluff accusations (emotional damage, etc) were thrown out.

Yes, I read it. The entire thing should have been tossed. People should not be allowed to abuse the legal system like this without consequence. Did you notice the loser has been un-employed since 2008?

Yes, I noticed Mr. Remis has been unemployed, what does that have to do with anything? Do I think the entire case is a joke, yes I think this guy is off his rocker. That all being said, what is being reported was the initial hearing to see if the case even has merit and a "breach of contract" accusation has legal merit. Obviously there must be enough of an argument and initial facts for the judge to keep the case alive.
 
if he can prove "breach of contract",he will go places.that's why contracts need to be clear to ALL involved.
 
This is kind of like the parents that sued Judas Priest for their son's suicide. They claimed that Judas Priest put backwards masking in a song that when played backwards kind of sounded like "do it", which prompted their son to "do it"....kill himself.....after sitting in his room and listening to the song over and over again for hours a day.

The whole band was forced to come the the US and defend themselves against such ridiculousness.

The parents really thought the band was at fault. They didn't think it was their responsibility to do anything. Frankly, I don't care what song it is, but if a child is listening to the same song over and over again, it might be a good idea to knock on the door and see if everything is ok.


As for this case, I don't know what the max is for small claims court, but for a $4,100 contract, a judge should have small claims court figure it out. Suing someone for $50k over a $4,100 contract is silly in it's own right.

If I was being sued for that, I'd play it out in the media and go on Good Morning America and make someone money that way

Not sure if it's true but I read somewhere that the guy only paid $3,500 out of the $4,100 that was owed.
