What side of a banana plug is the positive side?
also on the amp, it has a black and red screw post for the speaker wire, which side is the positive side.
Do you see my problem.
Thanks;'

Red is positive black is ground at the binding post of the amp. As for the banana plug just look at what colour the wires are feeding each pin.

Banana plugs can come individual or dual such as these:

They are usually color coded with a stripe or they may have a tab (See the bottom of the red one). The tab is the Ground/Black.

If the cable was properly connected they are generally marked

You guys are fabolous.
Thanks so much
Been in the game so long , you can get crosseyed.

Even if you purchase the cables retail, make sure the wires are properly connected.

I hate banana plugs specifically because they are so easy to loosen/detach and improperly reconnect.

You also may want to carry a Cable Tester In Your Gig Bag. Continuity Test. All for under $25.00 each. You can also use a Multi Meter but you will have to know the contacts from end to end.

Get a multimeter and check where each cable goes to. Tip is positive, sleeve is negative.

We have an awesome cable tester for under $35. Everybody should have one in their gig bag. I have one in my tool bag. It identifies problems so quickly!
