DJ Skirts Bites The Dust
Just got the following email from DJ Skirts. If you're considering anything from them, buy it before it's gone...

We regret to inform you that DJ Skirts is selling off all remaining inventory and has stopped manufacturing. We expect most items currently in stock to be sold out within the next 6-weeks or less. You'll notice that some are already sold out, and many others will not last more than a few days or weeks. Replacement bags should be available for a few years. We will remove all items from our website as each product is sold-out, and place them in the "Discontinued" section.

Please understand that we are forced to stop production due to these recessionary times. Once the economy completely recovers, hopefully within 2-years, we may re-introduce our most popular products. We will also consider selling the business. Bids to buy DJ Skirts Corp are being accepted, and some interest has already been expressed. This would of course prevent a long shut-down. If the business is not sold, we feel confident that the marketplace would welcome us back in a healthy economy to once again provide our customers with high quality, low prices, and great customer service.

DJ Skirts started the Appearance Covers industry for DJs back in 1998. We are very grateful to our customers world-wide for the support and kind remarks we've received over the years. Thank you sincerely for your interest in DJ Skirts products, and please accept our apology regarding this news

I question the option of "shutting down" then maybe starting up again, while trying to sell the company. If it were my company, I might cease marketing, advertising or whatever, but would keep the site up and sell available inventory and keep the illusion of still being viable, not only to stay in the public eye, but to keep my value up to a potential buyer. Different strokes for different folks, but shutting down would be a final option to me.

I don't like their site..... I would love to get a few 4 footers that have elastic around them. They would be for my kids parties, where I don't want a full black skirt for the tables.

Ok but the product is good.... like I said I've seen them in use and they do make a 4', 6' and 8' table skrim.... in both Black or White.

I just inquired on placing an order for a couple of scrims for my speaker stands and they referred me to this dealer http://www.musictrends.com/ .

And yes, their site leaves a lot to be desired and I found more complete information on the music trends website.

Jokerswild, thanks for the link... I am actually hoping to find something more free form and loose (and forgiving), like DJ Skirts old stuff... I kind of think this stretched out look is too clean/clubby/corporate for most wedding vibes... So I gotta keep looking... But thanks for the help...

KirbyBall... I couldnt find anything on the musictrends site.. I was searching under "skirt" and browsing through the 'appearance items'....

Thanks again guys... I may be taking seamstress classes at a community college somewhere... Ha...

Kirby - If you do order, let me know how they fit your stands...I'm contemplating some as well...
