Public "Thank You" to Kevin Nichols

I wanted to give a public "THANK YOU" to Kevin Nichols. Been watching his presentations now for a couple of years and they're always inspiring. He was kind enough to post a behind-the-podium shot recently that got me to wanting to change my setup and add a lighted facade. Here's my first wedding with the new rig.

I got a 42" tall rolling rack unit that's great. Everything perm-mounted (I just changed the mixer out to a VMX1000 yesterday) and there's space to hold 2 projectors and all the cabling I need. I also put an SKB AV rack on it to hold the laptop. The whole thing just rolls in/out of my trailer. The facade is built using plastic diffuser from Lowes and the lights are cheaplights blazers (2).

What did you use as the facade frame? It looks too thin & glossy to be wood. Is it metal?

he he...you'll laugh. 1"X2" wood frame and I used.....gulp.....black, shiney duct tape to secure the plastic in place.

I put an offset hinge (like used in cabinetry) on one side. It folds up neatly, into a single panel. The whole thing is very lightweight.
