So my (almost) 16 yr. old son has purchased car audio equipment.

JVC stereo
Pioneer sub
Rockford Fosgate amp
Diamond speakers

Anyone have any reviews or personal experience with Diamond brand car speakers? I've never heard of them before and I want to make sure he didn't get sold garbage. At $129.95/pr for 6.5 inch door speakers.

I've never heard of that brand either.. You sure it isn't a name plate on a reputable manus rejects?

Back in the day I always had good luck with Sony 3 ways for the car. They used to be called Sony Xplode, dunno if they still are.

I'd stick with Pioneer for the door speakers too. My buddy had Pio from the headunit to the subs and it kicked.

I believe they are a reputable brand.....at $130 a pair for some coaxials, they are probably not bargain basement brand, nor high end. Probably at least as good as the walmart "high end" such as Sony Xplode, Kenwood, Clarion, Pioneer, etc....

There are so many rebadged brands of stereo equipment these days, it seems. I used to buy all Made in USA amps and speakers for my cars, but that is not even possible these days....even with old US Companies. Back in the day, you used Rockford Fosgate, PPI, Orion, Xtant, Boston Acoustics, Polk, etc......I still have a lot of old, yet high end for the time, car stereo pumping away in some cars....
