I want to know what type of DJs are there... Because when i think about this a DJ to me is someone who mixes their own beats but i want to be a DJ who plays already hot songs and not change them, so what kind of DJ does this make me...

But say if i want to make like a mashup with a lot of songs what type of software would i use for this...

Thanks for the help

Well.....it saound like you want to do "mobile" work and not necessarily clubs.
A mobile will do weddings, school dances, sweet 16's and corporate gigs. Not too much call for mashups and beatmixing there. (although some beatmixing does go over at schools but not as critical as clubs)
As to software? I use Sony Sound Forge

Don't worry about labels and just do what it is you like to do, and do it the way you like to do it, and find the context you like to do it in.

I'm assuming you might not have too much experience under your belt yet - just try to get as much as you can at whatever low-key private events you can.

Spread your wings, and play the music that the people you're playing FOR (and paying you) want to hear.

If you can do that, and have fun doing it, you will find your niche quicker than you might think, and you may - or may not - find that you want to morph "your style" later on or as you go.

The term DJ is all encompassing, kinda like saying "hey lets go get some Bar-B-Que"... Maybe a better example would be like someone saying that they like "rock" music...

so I am a DJ but I never beatmix or make my own mash-ups.... Radio DJs don't even do that...

It is just a term that people understand.... you are a DJ, you play music...

agreed.

I'm a DJ, because that's what people call me. But i mostly do weddings, so I have very little in common with the DJ that mixes his own beats in a club. I don't make mashups...and I beatmix some songs together but not making my own beats.

Most people have their own "picture" of what a DJ is. Don't worry about it. Just do what you like. If you want to make money at this, make sure you know who your client is and what they want.

I've seen a club DJ do a wedding and have seen a wedding DJ do a club. Both very poorly. Not saying one can't do both....just need to understand the difference.

I am an Entertainer
