Well, here's my new challenge. The couple I met with today wants to do a lot of their wedding songs in Spanish.

Does anybody have a suggestion for a good Father/Daughter dance in Spanish?

"Hero" (spanish version)- Enrique Iglesias
"Turn To You" (Spanish)- Christina Aguilera

You could also check out other popular artists like:

Luis Miguel
Julio Iglesias
Marc Anthony

los angeles dj

I was hoping to find something more along the lines of "Frank Sinatra" in Spanish... some "oldies"... but those are great suggestions. THere's also "De Nina a Mujer" which is traditionally done for a quinceanera, but it might be fitting here.

linda Ronstadt had a couple albums and something about mi Padre. Might be a keeper.

Jon,

If I'm not mistaken, you're thinking of "Canciones de mi padre" which was a great collection of traditional Mariachi type music sung by Linda Ronstadt... not what I'm looking for in this case. Trying to find something more "traditional" but thanks for the ideas!

If I am not mistaken she did two of them in Spanish

I also thought there were a couple romantic ones in the midst of these mariachi style offerings.:triwink:

"Stand By Me" - Prince Royce (bachata)(Spanish/English)

Since I don't really speak Spanish, I like the voice and sound and beat of the following song: "Mi Credo" - Tiziano Ferro. Feed back please?

How about this song? "El Beso Del Final" - Christina Aguilera

Maybe "Tratar De Estar Mejor" - Diego Torres

All of the above songs are "slow dance songs" except "Stand By Me" which is Bachata format.

I'd be interested in others opinion of the above choices. Good, Bad, Not Appropriate.

Thanks

Ok I'm going to ask the obvious: What does the bride want?

Bride is funny... she keeps asking for Mexican/Latin music, but most of her examples are dance songs or heavy mariachi songs. We're trying to nail down the "dinner" stuff, where the mariachi would be too heavy.

Spanish as in Spain, Mexico, Cuba or Puerto Rico? New Mexico Spanish? Tejano? There is a huge difference. If it is Mexican Spanish, find out what region. There are many genres in Mexico.
If it is Spain spanish, it it totally different than what we hear. Pasodobles, Sevillanas, Jotas, Rumbas. etc. You can messasge me when you find out the region and I will help you with what they need. Mayebe even ask them what they want. The suggestions above were great, but if you play Mexican music for Cubans, it will not fly!

Mariachi is not too heavy for Dinner or Ceremony. Latino's like energetic music all the time. The more party like the music is, the more they will like you. You can play Soca during Prelude or dinner and they will love you. All latinos love dance music ALL THE TIME!

You can play some softer, older salsa too that is what I usually do

You guys are awesome. Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll be working on the playlists after this weekend's wedding.
