Monday we will make our monthly visit to all our vendors (florists, tux/dress shops, cake shops, limo companies, hotels). It is about 120 places total we visit each month.

Here are this month's materials we will be distributing. Every vendor will get 5 flyers, 5 double sided brochures and 10 biz cards, all neatly packaged in a folder.

I find it difficult to read some of the info with graphics in the background. Perhaps bolden the font.

Ohhh Patrick..you might hate me a little on this one...but....

On the picture it shows what is presumably two glasses of wine.....and right next to there is an advertisement for sweet 16s. :tritongue:

Most people might not care.....but just a simple point out is all.

also Patrick why use a Gmail account what about using your web address as the email ?

you can redirect your own email account to the gmail if you want but I wouldnt use gmail since you have the website address

it already comes with free email when you buy the domain...

eg [email protected] = [email protected]

or

[email protected]

I think the domain name is far more professional

also as Fred has said above, it is a little hard to read the text on the graphics you have
rest is fine

just some tweaking needs doing

one word: Gchat

I can be in constantly communication with all my clients through my phone and when I am online. And I would venture to say about 80% of the inquiries we have received so far have come from someone using gmail.

Using gmail...I only have to give one address out and can be in contact with them without having to give out anything else.

Plus, I am not in that camp of "using a gmail account makes you look unprofessional"

but you can still use your website so whats the difference!

oh well you do what you think

have a nice day

Just curious and serious... do you think that most of these 120 places actually keep your stuff or distribute it for you, or do you think it ends up in the trash?

What is in it for them?

BTW, that whole cassette thing is come kind of joke, right?

Still, I love the overall idea as long as these vendors aren't just throwing it all in the trash.

Every vendor has an individual promo code we give them that we tell potential clients to use when doing an availability check. The promo code gets their customer $50 off our services. We keep track of what vendors we get through the promo codes and adjust the visits to vendors accordingly. If we do not get any inquiries from a specific vendor, we will take them off our list and add a new.

Here are the other two flyers which went into the pack

...I shudder at the gmail address right next to a domain name... probably on my Top 5 pet peeve list... but that's just me :sqconfused:

my 2cents......what if the 5 people that vendor gave your promo pack to just didn't like your service? You could end up no longer providing promo packs to vendors who actually did pass out your stuff instead of trashing it.

Just because they didn't check your availability doesn't mean they didn't check out your site or brochure! If I am shopping for a dj but something about your site or brochure turns me off then why would I waste my time checking for your availability?

You should check out your sites traffic and figure out on a map where most of your visitors are coming from. Then target the towns/cities where you do not have any traffic coming from. (google analytics if you don't use it already)

I have a feeling that most people just trash that stuff, what would a vendor gain from passing out YOUR stuff? Are you in turn promoting their business? I know its never good to assume but this time I am going to say that half of those vendors already forgot about your business or trashed the promo pack before you return to the car to leave.

oh yeah add 1 more vote for the "using a free email when you have your own domain looks like crap" list!

Using this thinking, no venue would ever have a preferred list or give out packs to prospective clients. I don't know how it is in your area, but EVERY venue in this area has a pack they give out to prospective leads, which has information on all types of vendors in the area.

You guys can say what you want about this, but I am here to tell you (and I know at least one person on this board that can back me up here) this is a PROVEN method which I used for 15 years to keep my calender full every weekend. Our first packs (which we did in June) have brought us 21 bookings. We do not pay for ANY type of advertising. No yellow pages, no Wedj (anymore, we did not get one job from them when we did pay), nothing.

So say what you want about all theories of "this won't work, Gmail looks unprofessional, yada yada" I will keep on staying booked and cashing the checks.

Well unfortunately in my area you have to actually perform at the venues multiple times before gaining a spot on their preferred list. I wish it was as easy as mailing out promo packets.

If it works for you then that's all that matters!

I am interested in your method, can't see any harm in giving it a try! Do you usually make an appointment to speak with certain individuals or do you just drop in and leave the material with the front desk/receptionist?

Hey Patrick. I was just curious to find out what you charge for a 4-5 hour party in your area? No hard feelings if you don't want to answer.

Within 70 miles:

4 hours - $475
5 hours - $550

71 - 125 miles out - add $75
126 - 200 miles out - add $150 plus one nights hotel stay
