I am doing a wedding next Saturday and they asked the dollar dance music to be upbeat and fun. What types of songs would you suggest for this. I generally use slower dance songs for the $ dance. Any suggestions would be helpful. I have an idea but want to hear from my peers also.

Thanks ahead of time.

What type of music do they like? If you give us some direction, we can potentially help you out.

I did one of these a few years back. Truth is, they may make less $$ using fast songs.

I actually talked to people that would not participate because they don't like dancing fast.

Slow dancing is not a problem for them, but there are people that would rather not participate if they are forced to dance fast in front of others. (overweight folks, physical problems, or people that are very shy)

I pose this situation to my clients that may not take this into consideration.

I too prefer to keep it upbeat. That way you may get guys paying to dance with the groom and other fun stuff that could occur when keeping it fun and light-hearted. It needs to be a song that anyone can dance to. Songs like 'We're Having A Party' or 'Funkytown' work real well, IMO.

I have always made mine very interactive and fun, lots of comedy and such, but always use slow songs. It has never stopped the guy paying to get the groom to dance with him. It's the atmosphere IMO, which can be done apart from the music.
