we never got into buying lighting just used whatever the venues had. I am now thinking of adding some for our karaoke shows. Need to be small and lightweight and prferably on the cheaper side. Please post suggestions.

What would be the purpose of the lights? Is it to light the stage as the person is singing, or are you looking for dance floor effects?

A couple of color pallets would fit the bill for both lighting up the stage and for the dance floor.... they are relatively cheap depending on what you consider cheap at around $179/per.... add an inexpensive dmx controller or computer dmx controller and you have instant access to the built in programs....
so far all of the venues have lighting that hits the singers ok...we have a couple small chasers we leave at 2 of the venues and I just bought a American DJ 16 inch mirror ball in the box at a garage sale of all places. Was checking prices on a new motor and pin spot for it. some small moving uplights might be good as well. I might even see if we still have the bubble machine and fog machine(havent seen them for years)
