So we purchased a new laptop yesterday after my HP just upped and died on me. I got VDJ installed fine once but but uninstalled it to try and move the copy over from my old hard drive. That didn't work so I went back to download the new version from VDJ.com again.
This time, however, I couldn't seem to get the program downloaded correctly. The .exe file is downloaded to my computer from the website and is located on my desktop. When I run the program and install Virtual DJ it creates the Virtual DJ folder in my Programs Files folder on the C: drive, but it spits out the other folders like Playlists, Tracklisting, Skins etc. on my desktop. I've never seen it do this before, including when I first downloaded the program to this laptop.
Of course, when you move those folders, certain aspects of the program don't work. For instance, if the Skins folder is moved off the desktop, then the program can't open and just gives me an error message because it can't find the folder that contains the skins for the player.
I've tried re-installing almost 10 times, and running as an administrator, running in compatibility mode, and moving the files to the Virtual DJ Program Files folder. Nothing seems to work.
Surely theres a way to fix this so i don't have to use my computer with all of Virtual DJ's file folders on my desktop all the time!
The laptop is a Toshiba running Windows 7 Home Premium.
