I have two Peavey related questions. Last night at the club, I tried out using two Peavey two way speaker cabinets instead of my Bose 802s. They belong to a friend of mine. (He is unavailable today and also can't remember the Model number. They really sounded good and projected more than the Bose. I just can't remember for the life of me what the models were. All I can remember is that they were two way, pole mountable, bi ampable and had a Model number in the back with 1500. I believe these were wood enclosures as they were very heavy. Can anyone think of the actual model number. Three letters before the 1500. It also has straps on the side for handles.

Second question: In what year were the Peavey Black Widows introduced?

This should help with some of your question!

Nope! I did not see what I was looking for in those articles. However something triggered me. Did Kustom and Peavey design a series of speakers together? I think the speakers in question has both Kustom as well as Peavey logos on them.

Edit: I read the whole article (30 mins after)in its entirety and must say that it refreshed my mind a lot about efficiencies between loudspeakers and amps. Thanks for sharing!

The article is about the Black Widow (which came out in mid 75)!

The speaker you are refering to is the Peavey DJS 1500!

This unit does not use the BW, it is loaded with a Sheffield speaker and is a low end peavey product! Which was designed as a system with subs, 15" in the mains and 15" in the subs! Yes the boxes are 3/4" plywood!

OK I got to the bottom of things. The speaker my friend has is a Kustom two-way modified with a Peavey ECS 1500 passive crossover network.
