I am beginning to experiment with a new direction. I am starting to advertise complete sound rental with operator supervision. At my club, there is an Open Mic/Guest Rap Artist night on Mondays. Last Monday they had about 400 people in attendance. Problem is that the local DJ has been using one amp and two (Old Style) Peavey SP2. It was loud and noisy. They have heard my system before and I had offered to rent it out to them for their show (For a price). They finally buckled and this Monday I will be setting up the full system for them to use. At this show, I will create a Powerpoint presentation advertising my rentals. Summer is coming and these guys are all over the city doing parties, block parties, promotions etc. I plan on being a part of those events to get my piece of the pie.
I'll eventually build another system that is more user friendly that I can deliver, leave and go back to pick up. I did this many years ago in Boston where there were lots of talented DJs in my Record Pool who did not have their own equipment. It was met with great enthusiasm and success.
I'll try and remember to take some pics.
