There's something about the yellow font that's I'm not digging...the "writing" font at first glance is very hard to read....

The " A new Song" logo......Pay someone to have a nice one done. Word Art on a mirror ball doesn't do you justice.....

In the box to the left -- I would put the part about "serving" in the body of the page....The logo could go to the left......

I would use the photo from your bio page on the home page...

On your music page you sat " I have ,000 songs....

I just noticed as well, when you navigate from your home page, you can't get back to it.....Only the home page has your contact info (other than the contact page)...The logo, phone number should be on every page...

Colors suck! :)

See, I was nice, I put a smiley :D

Some of us have a hard time with a dark background, and bright text bunched together (without enough whitespace) -- it leaves an impression on yer retina (not a good one)... It can also be a migraine trigger, depending on the colors used.

Stick to light colored backgrounds -- they're easier for people to read.

Rick, did you review it early in the morning or late at night (After the beers kicked in)? :sqlaugh: BTW that was a nice question!

I'll be very honest. I'm not a huge fan. If you like it-- then mission was accomplished. that being said, here's some thoughts:

1) The logo is only seen on the first page. First rule of marketing is top-of-mind awareness. the logo should be on EVERY page in the exact same spot.
2) Already said, but why is there no HOME Button?
3) The background... I can see where it breaks off. It needs to have an even cut at the top and bottom so it looks like it's one big image OR you can see the STRETCH CSS command to fill the entire page. It looks very amateurish/AOL hometown to have a background that repeats itself with OBVIOUS lines.
4) The quote... cute but unnecessary. I had to scroll half a page past the quote to find out about your services. Lose the quote OR switch it so the info begins first.
5) No address at the bottom? No phone number at the bottom? You want SEO? Begin there.
6) People read from the upper LEFT in a reverse S form. That being said, LOGO on the upper left. ALWAYS. Phone number on the upper right.
7) Holy crash, batman! How big are the images on your gallery page? It looks like LARGE images that were resized with HTML vs an image program. I have a dual-processor Mac Pro with a T1 connection and that lagged with all the images, lol.

Sorry to be frank- I just state my opinion and i hope it helps!

Hugh,

I have to agree with others here about the font color and the font itself there are other much easier to read fonts than the ones you have chosen!

BTW I have a real problem with the Font that PROMO ONLY uses for their artist they really need to fix that crap!

A very noble effort! All in all, I like the site. It gets the job done!

Things I see though...aside from what the others have stated:

The font type and size (In My Humble Opinion) does not scream MODERN & HIP. In other words...again, IMHO, that in itself dates the site.

I would get back off into the HTML code and size down the font and go with something a little more neutral and modern. A sans serif font works best...

I also notice there are hidden keywords in the code. From everything I've read about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and Indexing, the search engines don't like this and may bump you down in the rankings.

Again, this is only my opinion and observation. A lot of you guys probably know a lot more than I about all this...

I am a wedding photographer. Our business is forever evolving. Staying fresh and hip and modern are key to our survival. That drives my opinion about the font.

I also wear black slacks and a black t-shirt when I photo....AND when I take out my sound system for receptions. If a bride even hinted that I had to wear a tux to be hired....oh boy, that would be comical. I might as well bow down to the man and go back to corporate America. ; )
