Yorkville LS200P Powered Subwoofer

I have been looking at those too Bill and I see it has dual 10" drivers.

My other candidate is the NX200S. It has a urethane outside finish, but only 1-10" driver.

I owned a pre-LS version of that speaker. I agree, it couldn't do squat. Now, if you are looking at a cocktail system or ceremony system, maybe. But not for any kind of dancing. Btw, it only has one 10" speaker in it, not two.

I have a friend with an LS200P and it's actually quite good. But it depends what you're comparing it to.

No, it's not even remotely going to compare to a 'Bag End' system, or even a B-52 18" Folded Horn sub - which BTW, has roughly 4 times the surface area and completely different physics.

Define your 'need' then find the equipment that works to fulfill that need based on your budget limitations.

Personally I find the LS200P to be a nice sub - particularly for the price. The LS700P is quite nice as well. I've heard both and they certainly fill out the bottom end nicely.

If you are looking for lowend, then Yorkville is NOT the place to look. I've had serveal yorkville systems and none of them had any good low end thump.

They had those at our local rental outlet. They sold them for $69.99 used at their march madness sale.

My friend has 2 that he picked up they work great as home theater subs. I would use them for anything but that or a sub for your computer. He has stated my Onkyo home theater sub hits harder than one if not both of the Yorkvilles.

Did you ever own an LS800P?

We've used nothing but LS800P units for almost the past 10 years. They've got enough coverage to rock ceiling tiles loose and almost constantly blurr my vision!

That's really comparing apples to oranges.....

I used that sub with the NX25Ps and two of them with the NX55Ps and it ran well with both. They have reasonably good tone and depth and to my ear they are underrated power wise.

Honestly in the end it's a 10" sub there is only so much you will get out of it but they might be a great match for those ZXA1s you bought

For me any cabinet with only a 10 inch driver is not a subwoofer. You can get great bass from a cabinet with a 12 inch driver but it would have to be horn loaded. Here is an example of a great sub that only uses a 12" driver. http://jtrspeakers.com/portable/growler/
