Facebook Fan Page

OK, I have just created a new facebook fan page and am looking for fans! It's only 1 day old, so it's very small but I would love to have more people on it.

Also...tell me what you think a fan page should be for...should I post helpful items, just where I have gigs at, thoughts about the business...what do you think a fan page is for?

Just search "vjjustinallen" on Facebook and I hope to see you there.

I was on FB for several months before creating a fan page. I had several friends when I did create the fan page, which I invited to become a fan of my page. I also get potential clients that join me as a fan in hopes of receiving any promotional annoucements that I might do. My fan page is linked to from my website.

I utilize my facebook fan page to store pics and video for gig reports. Each event is then visible on all the fans profiles.

I have plans to add some stuff to the Discussions area -- much like a blog.

Facebook nows sends you a weekly report on how many visitors your page receives, but don't forget to take into account how many times you're on it because there is no way to exempt yourself from their tracking.

I have several prospective gigs from Facebook come through. One person booked us for her Sweet 16 next year, and all her friends became 'Fans' of out page after that. It has generated about 5 leads so far.

We are going to use the discussion area for school events. So kids can go there and post their song requests and have a general discussion for their events.

Since I have started doing my son's middle school dances, I have half of the 6-8 graders from my town as fans. They turn into brides and grooms later on so good to get to them when they are young.

I like my fan page.

Just last Friday, I took a bunch of pics, announced if anyone wants any of them to go to my fan page and be my guest. I have gained around 10 fans from that wedding. If they liked what they saw, if they need a DJ, I might just be remembered.

I started at facebook with just a personal page, then started pimping my shows there. Realized my friends in England and my classmates from high school did not need that spam, so I set up a fan page for HARRYOKE. I invited all my personal friends who were people who go to my shows, and based on their memberships, others have found their way. Now I can communicate with hundreds of clients at a time, many times while at my show, to encourage participation. Sometimes I can leave my account online at a show and communicate with audience members as well. It is working for me...

Well that I understand. Actually I think that it's constructive to see how others utilize their facebook fan page in order to generate business. Since we are not in the same area, and the more numbers you get on fan pages is a good thing, I didn't see the harm.

Maybe there is?

They can view it without 'fanning' mine. :sqwink:

I don't know why numbers would matter, unless someone needs their ego stroked. :sqlaugh:

Wow, you take it to that level. Well one way numbers matter is that you can create a vanity page once you meet certain numbers.

Don't worry about it RandyA Your point, and attitude, is taken.

I just saw something about stroking, nothing about attitude. :sqlaugh::rofl: <-Smiles usually designate a joke or sarcastic comment or post. Nothing to get offended over.

Fair enough, my bad then....I took it the wrong way. Apology offered.

Don't think an Apology is needed. Let me just say Welcome to ODJT. Enjoy your stay and keep the humor and sarcasm flowing and the posts off topic. I think Jokerswild would actually hand out some infraction points if it was any other way.

No need to apology. It happens.

Btw, I learned something from you. After reading about a vanity page, I googled it. I was reading where you can change your facebook url to something personal. So, now my page has been renamed. Thanks!

I am waiting to get just a few more so I can create that vanity name...then I can send out some targeted advertising and make it easier on the potential customers.

Glad you were able to utilize it :)

Alright I'm taking your birthday away....
