Ben, Bill, Mike....etc.

For a pair of SXa100s - what would be a nice matching powered sub for these speakers?

The SB122?

What sized/type of events would you use with this combo?
Would I need to use an external cross-over, such as a Driverack PA?

Pricing? (Feel free to e-mail this info).

Thanks!

The SB 122 are passive.
The SB2A are powered with dual 350 watt amplifiers.

In your case I would go with 2 - SX100 or 2-SX300 (passive) and 2 - SB2A.

Nice system for 200 ppl:sqwink:

Ok,

I already have the pair of the SxA100s...sorry, I thought that I mentioned that earlier.

So, then the best pairing would be the SB2As for an all-powered 4-speaker system?

Do I need an external cross-over? Or is there a low-pass filter in the subs?

Thanks,

Joe

Ben --- won't he need a crossover? The tops are powered, so he can't feed them of the SB2A? or can he?

He wont' need a crossover. An external active crossover is always a great idea... but not necessary here.

Rather than using the Speakon powered outputs of the SB2A, he would use the XLRM line level outputs. :)

One question

Wouldnt he only just need 1 SB2A and 1 SB122. Since the poered one can amplify the unpowered one and save some money!!!

That's true with the powered tops you only need 1-SB2A, but once the SB2A stops working... you have no subs...
Also, with 2- SB2A you can add 2 - SB122 and have a nice system for teen party.
It all comes to how deep is your pocket and how much stress you can take. When I use 2 RCF ART 310A and 2 - SB2A, the last thing on my mind is the speaker problem. When you need to be in the top shape - that's priceless.

Ok sounds good, this way he will get 2 extra amps (350W each) to power something else as a backup!

This is my second answer:

I would still go with one of each. After all he is buying EV subs, and not some cheap brand!!!
