Tommy...I'll keep your little tag line/signature thing in mind ("diplomacy sucks") when I say this...it's bad. Like really bad....super duper horrible bad.

BUT! That's good! It can only get better...talk with some people on this board. The person that did Cam's new logo did fantastic work and is very reasonable...and of course Hank does awesome work as well!

I'm wondering if Tom is putting us on

Stop wondering.

One reason I am wanting to change is that I actually had one client tell me that she did not like the logo. She thought it was scary. So, how many others is it scaring away that I don't know about?

I thought it was cool but I think what the clients think is more important.

Tom,

Do you mind if I ask you why your service is called "Good Knight" and what connection a knight has to DJ entertainment? The reason may aid in the design process.

When I got back into it I was doing lots of Knights of Columbus events and I was the Grand Knight of my council. I wanted to work that into a company name and realized that Good Knight worked on a play on words with good night in that, since most events are at night we will be providing with a good night of entertainment and we will also be their good knight in shining armor that provides excellent services.

If a client isn't going to book you on a logo.....try a teletubby

Very creative! I like it!

I love it!

Tom...can I make a suggestion? You have a link that you are a Maryland Wedding DJ...I know this has been beaten to death but it's true...what is going to appeal to your market? Is this logo or even the name of the company going to appeal to a typical bride that is twenty something?

I would suggest you start with a name change that is appropriate for your market and bag the Knight theme entirely...just my .02.

What ya tryin to say DAWG?

Kevin:

Thanks for the suggestion.

I have over eleven years invested in the name and the the play on words in the name does get attention.

As to the wedding DJ, that is just one tool used to bump up the Google position. I do other events besides weddings but most of the events I do are weddings.

Finally, I am not going out of my way to advertise these days, read that as I'm not paying for a whole lot of advertising. Essentially Craigs List, the web site, word of mouth, and my WeDJ and NAME membership are the advertising I do. My philosophy is that if I get events I will do them and if I don't I'll do other things. With that in mind, yes, I'd like to change the logo to a friendlier appearance however I am not going to change the name and therefore have to redo web pages and domains.
