Software for photo/video production???

We offer the photo/video montages durring the dinner hour if our clients request it. We have started to get more and more request.

My wife is the one that does this and she has been using Windows Movie maker that comes with windows but she wants to know if there is some better software for this.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Adobe Premier is the absolute best amateur video editing software.
