Hey there.
AC Expo -they had these on hand....LOL.
Could demo them to your hearts content.
The principle is that you have different tracks programmed into it & when you break any of the six laser beams, that track which is programed for a specific beam, plays.
Not like a theramin, which uses EM energy to make music.
About 1 1/2 years ago, the owner called me - not sure how he got the #, but he was telling me about this new product he developed & asked if I would be interested in demo'ing it, etc...
Not seeing the potential at that time, I politely passed - Yeah, I'm kinda kicking myself on that one.... Oh well.

Yup, a Casio one finger cord type thing..... only with loops.. whoopie... it's neat for sure but, not all that exciting from a musician's stand point.

A few months ago at our ADJA meeting in Phoenix, Dr. Drax brought this in & demonstrated it. Pretty cool.
It's neat....but something that will fade just as fast as it's debut.

Just remember, your clients and your audience will most likely only see you once or twice in their life. Boring to you, maybe. But it will be fresh to those around you.
I was trying to find the price. It's neat but think would get old quick. I couldn't see paying more than $70 for it.

The Korg Kaoss Pad and Alesis AirFX also had potential... but they just didn't catch on with DJs. I predict the same fate for the Beamz.
