My phone is always on but if I am home in the evening doing anything I let it go to awnsering machine

Phone is always open for clients.

However just because my phone rings doesn't mean I drop what I may be doing to answer it. I figure if the call is important enough....anyone calling me can leave a quick message..or a good time to call them back at.

In most cases though...I always try to answer the locals I do not recognize to catch them right away...only because they might be wanting to find a dj right away and they want to talk to someone right away.

Not necessarily true... here at the hotel we consider a missed call as a missed opportunity and a loss in potential revenue. Granted we don't have an answering machine attached.... but how many times do you get calls that don't leave a message? Think maybe some of those might have been potential clients that had you answered you might have got a sale?

Case in point my Halloween Party.... I was at work at the hotel and instead of ignoring my cell I answered and low and behold I had a sale just because I answered my phone.... opportunity only rings once in some cases.

We have our cell phones and an pffice phone. No "home" phone per say. Plus we have elderly sick parents on my wife's side, so our phones are on 24/7.

Business wise, I do not take calls after before 8 am and after 8 pm.

In respect, I will not call my clients at these times too.

Cue Dolly Parton - 9 to 5 :)

Ringers go off after 5pm, on again at 9 am. I will answer support emails anytime I am in the office though (which is the entire time I am awake).

If a customer needs to talk to me after hours because of work, etc., I will make arrangements to do so. :)

I have no one to get emergency calls from, except maybe my brother -- and he's 350 miles away. He'll email me the details later, since I won't be of any use to him.

I don't have set times. My office phone gets transferred to my cell phone. If I am doing something important, I don't answer it. But if I am just doing some work on the computer at 8 oclock at night and the office phone rings, I'm going to answer it.

If I'm spending time with my wife at 4 oclock, I'm not.

Phone is always "on" and there is no real cutoff time for calls, I'm guessing that Coreen will answer almost anything until she goes to bed.

We've even fielded inquiries while traveling on vacation.

If we aren't able to pick up the call will go to voicemail and will get a call back as soon as we possibly can (within reason.)

Meetings are usually after 6:00 PM M-F with the weekends we have a bit more flexible hours on Sunday. Very rarely have meetings on Saturday, but we have had a few.

We try to be as flexible as we possibly can, within the restrictions that we're at our day jobs normally M-F.

I'm always available for clients unless I am:

A. On vacation out of the country (normally twice per year and then I'm still available checking email at least once daily)

B. At another clients event performing

I turn off the phone when I'm sleeping- and that's the only time. Voice mail is great, but picking up is much better.

With people working during the day, many of my calls come after six anyway...

Phone is always on and I will answer it as long as I am not in bed.
The only exceptions are when I am in a meeting or at an event.

I took a call around 11pm a few weeks ago and resulted in an April reception.

We meet with clients just about anytime they need to meet but we try to make it M-Th after 6pm, anytime Friday and after Church on Sunday.
