Peavy Replacement Baskets

Cam it depends on the motors, Over the years Peavey made three different style of BW motors, so depending on which ones you have it may or may not work.

You gain nothing by installing a lowrider basket on a BW motor anyway so you are putting more mooney into no gain.

The newer style BWRBs are a better basket and I believe they will work with all of the BW motors cost is less and you are assured that it will function.

I do know that the LR motors will work on BW baskets but I haven't tried it the other way around, I think there may be a seating issue with some of them.

I found (yes, hanging outside on a fence at a bar, had been there almost a year!) a BWX basket a while back. It had no magnet, but the coil looked good. I found that the wire going to the terminal was not having a very good connection, so I resoldered it and put an old peavey magnet on it. It's still working fine, but if I push it hard, it'll bottom out.

Clark,

There are three different motors that have been used for the black widow and there are several different VCs used on the RBs not all are interchangeable.

yea, I know this magnet is off of an 1801 series driver. It works for now, I have a low cut of 60 Hz on it for now. It's the sub in the drum monitor, so doesn't have to go really low, just have some punch to it. I'm seriously thinking of going to a triple 12 or something instead of an 18 though.
