So in my continuing effort to try something new and different...I picked up 2 floor model EV SB2A subs...

Bought them off e bay; they were being sold by a music shop 2 hours from home, so I'm pretty confident. They are EV dealers; these boxes have full warranty...

The dealer has a raft of boxes; TourX stuff (It looks much better in person), Yamaha subs, Behringer tops and sub, Yorkville....a lot of different brands you normally don't see...

So I go to lift them...they weigh squat....which worries me. If specs mean anything though, 2 of these should give me nice tone with my 310A's.

I'm hoping 2 will do the job of my 705AS...while I love the sub, I'm getting too old to lug 95lbs in one package......30lb units seem much easier...

I also have a new DBX223XL as a crossover. I'll use it as well when I do the big gigs with the LS800P's

I have a tent wedding tomorrow where I'm just using the Maxx6A's, so I'll check them out Sunday...

I also have on the way 2 SB122 unpowered subs...I lucked out and found them at a production company in Toronto; new in box (they are an EV dealer as well)the SB2A will power these sub...so if I'm thinking right... and hoping...2 on each side coupled should work very well.

If it goes as I hope...I may be putting the 705AS on the market....

Ben, I really appreciate the pm's and all the advice...Damn, I wish I could buy more from you....unfortunately shipping and duties kill any savings.....and i on't have a place yet across the border to ship to....

And I've been lucky, finding deals...too good to pass up....

Does that mean I'm in the Telex club? :sqwink:

When do I get my badge?

Steve, 2-310 A and 2-SB2A :sqbiggrin: add 2 more SB122 and :sqlaugh::sqlaugh::sqlaugh:

I love it.

Anzyxx..you run this set up right? How do You like it?

Best part is. I picked up the SB122's, new in box, for $500 cdn

I did the SB2A/310A vs. SB2A/ZX1-90 combo test.

Quality of the sound is more or less the same up to 50% of the volume.
At the 70%-80% level you could hear that the ART 310a is the winner.
Extra power helps and also there is much less clipping from SB2A.

I will use the SB2A/310A combo in 2 months, only because it will be 200 people wedding and most of guests are 250 pounds. Otherwise the SB2A/ZX1-90 would be perfect. If you add 2 more SB122's, that would be probably all that you ever need.
I don't even think about upgrading anymore, love the sound, weight, look, size, perfect system.

Could you pm me where did you buy the SB122's? I may grab 2 as well:sqbiggrin:
Thanks

That's what I love about living in a border town. I email or call Sam and if it's in stock it goes out same day and I pick it up the next morning at the border. I'm a couple of hours away from NLFX.

They bill my CDN address but ship to the US one, saving me the US taxes. I then pick the gear up and pay the GST/PST at the border.

I also order from another company out of Detroit who I won't name out of respect to the sponsors of this board.
