As you know I have been looking for a cheap cargo trailer..well not cheap..but a nice one for a good deal. Here's kinda a cool story on how I scored mine.
So last night I go to bed, and some of my last thoughts are..."I am just going to have to give in, and raise my looking price from $800-$1200 to $1600 or so."
This morning I wake up, and jump on the good ol craigslist. I find a 6x10 cargo trailer 6 hours away for $1000 and there is a phone number! So I run to my phone and call this number, and low and behold I am the first call. So I say.."It'a sold...how do I pick it up?"
He said he was going to Alexandria to pick up a snowmobile which is two hours north of him, and this 4 hours away from me, which shortens my trip. So we decided to meet in this town. Well anyways..turns Alexandria is where my mom and dad are staying for the last two days..and for tonight...coincidentally.
So we meet, and trailer is as he said in great shape, and I purchase. So he saved me 4 hours of driving, and about a tank of gas. So dad meets me at the parking lot of Fleet Farm to see this trailer. He likes it. Anyways...we make sure all the lights work...and talked for about 15 minutes. I went to start my truck, and no luck. Dad tried to jump my truck, but we were not getting a good connection. We went into Fleet and purchased he purchased a battery for me, since I didnt have enough cash...lol. Put the battery in, and now my truck loves me.
I put gas on some towns later..and my truck got 14.7 mpg..which is way more than this thiing has ever gotten. The best I have seen is like 12 or so.
Kinda cool how dad was able to be at the Fleet and basically save my butt from driving with a poor battery back up home. Also..funny how where this guy had to purchase something was were they were staying. Pretty cool but really weird.
Good times..on the way back...I got another story to tell....in another thread, which kinda upset me at the end of such a cool day.
