I am so sick and tired of getting leads from them that will never pan out.... I am in Elkhart, IN why the hell do I want to travel over 200 miles to do a wedding?

These are the type of leads I get.... ALL so far have been mostly from Illinois and I don't me just accross the boarder.... Oh No... they have been anywhere between 150 to over 200 miles from me... some Smart Match System:sqrolleyes:

Ugh.... about the only good part is I can direct past brides to rate us and point new clients there to read the reviews... but as far as getting useable leads... forget it!

I've never gotten a lead from them, via email, but a couple did call me.

I've traveled that far a couple of times, but they paid for the travel and a hotel, once two nights so I could be there for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner too. They had rented a block of rooms for the weekend.

Exactly one reason I don't utilize them. They tried adding me to their system without even asking, which really pissed me off. I let that go for a bit and got a few leads --- all hundreds of miles away. Duh! I asked to be removed and they got a bit ****ty with me.

I have had plenty of folks come to my website from Wedding Wire and only a couple booked.... but, the leads are trash.... either they are tire kickers and don't respond once you initiate contact or they lead you on until you give up on them ever commiting to your service... I'm not saying that this is Wedding Wire's fault in any way but, that has been my experience with the leads....

I now just simply decline any I'm not interested in at all or decline with a message on how to find my website for a quote. That way if they are truely interested they will go to my site and get their quote and I don't have to waste my credit's on useless inquiries.

Dear Sir or Ma'am,

I have a listing on your site www.weddingwire.com/totalimpactdjs we are located in Elkhart, Indiana.

Why do you insist on sending leads to us that are better than 150 miles away?

I realize that you place listings within a region based on the closest metro city. For most of us in Northern Indiana Chicago, IL is definatly not the nearest Metro City.

Please refine your regions so that those of us on the out skirts of whatever region you have us in will get more localized leads.

For my location please consider South Bend, Indiana as the center of my region.

Not that it will get me anywhere but I feel better now.....

Funny thing is there doesn't seem to be a way to contact them directly from the site to voice my displeasure.... I've done the link-around-the-rosey and come up empty on any sort of contact_us page.

I think I have a PHONE NUMBER... I will check.

Have the same problem
I live in Bethlehem PA.
the closest city on THEIR list is Philly, so they lumped me into that group.
only problem is, Philly is about an hour and a half away.
some of the leads I've gotten are even farther.
only got TWO that were local
both were looking for $300 bargains.

I did email them about it
and finally got a reply
said they were working on expanding their list...
never happened.

Hmmm, no problems here. If people find us on Wedding Wire, they just contact us directly and I can think of only a couple of inquiries coming through their site. And again the inquiries were well within our service area.

YMMV

That's been my experience too.. just irked me today to get 3 new "Smart Matches" that were more than 150 miles away from me.

Now, mind you that Smart Matches are just inquiries that were placed in general by a potential bride but not specifically targeted at you the company.

Wedding Wire takes these inquiries and sends an email to ALL vender's matching whatever profile or local the inquiring couple ask for. So, it's not like they went to your Wedding Wire page and then inquired about your services alone.

Everybody meeting this magical criteria gets a Smart Match lead email.

I love wedding wire. I'm number one in my market and Kris is number two. Its a super elegant layout and it allows flash on the "storefront"

I'll drive anywhere for a wedding....for the right price of course.

Are you getting charged for these leads? I've never received a lead from weddingwire...usually the client just contacts me directly.

If I choose to get the information off of any lead be it a Smart Match or a direct lead from my Store Front it costs 3 credits and you can purchase I think $1.00 per credit purchaseable in $25 and $50 dollar incriments.

If I travel over 50km then I charge $2 a km from then on one way

plain and simple

so if its 70km then it will cost them $140

If you don't like the tons of low-ball SmartMatch leads they're sending you, visit this page and change your "Minimum Lead Value" to a higher amount. Doing this allows you to receive leads that are better suited for your business.

Price hasn't really been an issue.... it's the distance that is killer and stupid if you ask me... not very Smart to match a DJ that is more than 150 miles from the reception now is it?
