Getting a projector to like my laptop

Hey!

I have a projector for the slide show at today's wedding. I have the setting for my main screen to be the primary and the projector is the extension of the screen. I have jpgs of the family to show.

When I open the file of pics and hit "Show as a slide show" it only shows on my main screen, and I can't get it to the extension side so that is shows on the projector.

Any ideas?

I don't know if its a Windows thing, but you need to set the projector as primary and turn off your LCD on the laptop (usually by a FN key).
I've seen that happen may times trying to play media files on my XP laptops.

Hugh, when all else fails, read the manual! Seriously... Go online and find the manual for your laptop. Somewhere in it will be the description of F-key functions. One of the keys should toggle between the laptop screen / external screen / both screens.

Get Rockit -- it has a little button you press, and shows the slideshows on the external monitor.

But, you knew that, didn't ya...?

Usually F8 -- says though CRT/LCD... hit once and it is Projector, twice is both

I had the same issue and just setup the projector to duplicate the laptop screen.

I call it the "Newbie's Dilemma"! No offence, it comes from my work.
What operating system do you use?
If XP use the famous Fn button and one of the F5. F6, F8 keys, depending on your laptop model. Press them together 2-3 times and you shuld be able to clone your desktop to your projector.
