The B&G decided they want to make the 1st dance more fun by having the song "scratch out" and change to Baby Got Back" so they can do a special dance routine (as a big surprise to all the guests).

I've seen this on You Tube and there have been a few threads on the subject here. I've already made the mix (keeping the scratrch simple) and it sounds good to me, but we'll see how it works in real life....

I have one of these that I will be working on soon for next April. It appears that we'll be getting their first dance in vinyl ("Everything I Do" - Bryan Adams) so that we can play it and do the real scratch. :)

I just did one Saturday night. It's become old since it's been around a few years now.

we've done it about 5 times already. I think it's getting old for us, but there is still a lot of people that haven't seen it yet and get a kick out of it.

I've done this a couple of times, and love it when a B&G actually follow thru with the effort into doing something like this.

It's frustrating (at least to me) when a Bride tells me at our planning meeting that she wants customized things to make their reception unique- like their Love Story; a choreographed First Dance; personalized table names instead of the ho-hum table 1, table 2, etc; then do none of them and tell me "we don't have time" when I do my follow-ups a month before the wedding.

Be sure to get a copy to the B&G in a timely manor so they can rehearse their routine to the actual mix that will be played at the wedding

Thank you very much. I sent a copy to them the day after I made it so they would have plenty of time to practice their moves!

Yup,

Same thing here.... and same song to start (Bryan Adams) & then scratch into a 10-song mix.

Took a couple of hours, but Mixmeister Fusion made it a lot easier. Will have it to them tomorrow - they get 6 months to practice....:)

Is the first time I'm doing one, so I guess the novelty is still there for me.

Cheers,

Joe

Like a virgin I have remained cleansed from this sinful practice.
And thus do you find yourself stagnant? Same old, same old? Or do you go the way of the Tom O. and refuse to do them because it's again his personal beliefs?

Sorry I didnt add smileys. I have never had to consider this ritual. Whatever the client wants as itis their event. Way to be on it ya old Buzzard BHB.

VDJ has a "backspin" button that I used a few weeks ago when the B&G told me RIGHT BEFORE they did their first dance, that they wanted to play about 2 mins of the song, go into Mustang Sally, then back into their song, so I did it on the fly without any pratice.....

It came out great!

Cap did one of these at the wedding I shadowed him on last week. B&G went from 1,2,3,4 into Thriller, then back to 1,2,3,4. They did the entire Thriller dance, very well as a matter of fact. Would have been better to include more people (maybe the bridal party or "random" guests from the crowd), but it was still very well done.

I have one coming up in mid July, still working out the details with them. And I believe another couple interested in doing one later in the year.
