I was wondering if anybody here is planning attending one of the 15 City Mobile Beat Summer Tour Stops? They are in August and run from 6-10 P.M....They each have three seminars plus some Vendor Exhibits..

Many are at the Chain "Dave & Buster's"....It may be an attempt to promote the Vegas Shows...Just as I said...One night stops..6-10 P.M...Presenters include Jim Cerone,Scott Faver,Andy Ebon and Dr. Drax..There are about 10 sponsors including Pioneer Pro DJ...You can get the details on the Mobile Beat website or the May Magazine...I registered but would have to drive 120 miles each way to Pittsburgh on August 19...These stops are free but am now having thoughts whether it would be worth the drive...

It would be worth the 120 mile drive just to go to Dave and Busters!! That place is a blast.

Don,

Yes, it is an attempt to boost awareness / attendance of the MB Vegas shows. Why else would they want to do this?

I'll be going to the show in Philly. It'll be a night out, at the least.

Too Bad Ben isn't a sponser of this - are you?

Cheers,

Joe

To make money? A lot of the shows don't make their money on the attendees. It is made by selling sponsorships.

I had contemplated becoming a sponsor of the tour. However, schedule conflicts and the cost of personally attending the events in all the different areas of the country was not in the budget this year.

This year's DJEP lineup already includes: Mobile Beat - Last Vegas, DJ Times - Atlantic City, ADJA Convention - Chicago, Northern DJ Convention - Minneapolis, and a couple of other side trips to see individual users.

I look forward to attending the local event in Minneapolis as a "DJ". I do hear Dave and Buster's is the adult (but not naughty) version of Chuck E. Cheese.

Troy: Don't forget the FAME School Training Conferences....I almost went to the one in Pittsburgh but opted instead for the DVD set..

Now I get to play Patrick.... I can't stand that place..... and I have one just 5 miles from me... but I would go for a meeting, possibly.

Don:

Thanks for the reminder! I am also a sponsor for the FAME Show. I had hoped to go to Pittsburgh but was in the midst of a coding project. I'm hoping to make to one of the other FAME events (as a "DJ" and to provide some training to my FAME DJEP members). The FAME training looks interesting and would love to go and learn.

Troy,

Thanks for chiming in. Like I said, I plan on going. I know Drax was hoping to get the local ADJA chapters involved in each city. But in Philly, well there is no chapter. I'll be available to be the "Local Crew" for the day, if they like.

This D&B is the first place I ever played with my new Bose - FWIW....:)

Cheers,

Joe

Sorry, no. Not a sponsor of the summer tour. We talked to Ryan extensively about it, but our summer was already pretty packed up.

I suppose if there were someone interesting to listen to then I might consider it. I suppose at least the networking would be worth it.

Don't worry Joe, we have no MA or Boston chapter either. I know there's a New England chapter but it's turned into a Conn. chapter. There's just no interest in this area.
