"Entertainer Contract" Part 2 - Venue finds chatter on the internet.

I received a phone call today from the catering manager that supplied the “entertainer contact”. I told her that I never got phone call in 28 years from a venue asking how my overall experience went. She told me about the “internet chatter” regarding the “entertainer contact”. I was surprised. She read bits and pieces of the thread regarding the contract and some of the comments were not deserved. She told me that the boards of directors were responsible for the “entertainer contract”. I ask her about why no insurance was required for the venue. She proceeds to tell me I was the only DJ to send a copy of liability insurance. Once again, the board of directors is responsible for the language in the contract.

We had a very nice conversation. Overall I told here I was pleased the staff and venue. I told her I left a positive response on the thread and she told me she would see what happens on the "Google alert". I didn’t want to ask her how she stumbled on the thread.

This is an excellent example of why we (ODJT) have some forums closed to guests and Google spiders. We should be aware of the forum permissions before posting things we don't wish the public to have access to.

Actually Google Alerts is a very handy tool especially if you are tracking for SEO purposes or wondering what people are saying about you

It's pretty cool that they're paying attention to their business name online, that tells you that they care about it at least.

I do find it strange that would just pop in search results so fast. FWIW I just googled the name mentioned in the first thread and while she appears to be all over the internet there's no mention of ODJT within the first 10 pages.

However Yahoo has us on the first page for her name, # 8 http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=Jenny+Giallanza

That's interesting I'm guessing she's into reputation management.

Personally I would think she would be more than pleased with the responses that she read on the thread they were 96% positive to her "Agreement".

If every DJ on this board got a 95% positive approval rating from every person that reviewed an issue they would be jumping for joy!

I say Kudos to Jenny for checking out what was being said about the matter and responding to it.

I would like to let her know that her participation on this board would certainly be appreciated (at least by me) and would certainly give us all a little reality check getting feedback from a venue manager or event coordinator!

I searched Karl Langford and got a bunch of hits for another guy with my name and how he is some pagen thing.

My company name gave me hits from here and prodj and my website.

she has no reason to be bothered by it
she should use it as informative research.
feedback is feedback...positive or negative)
especially if it is not HER requirement.

maybe it'll be good ammunition for some changes
next time she meets with the folks in charge.
