I am leaving for my wedding in about 2 1/2 hours. It is a local girl marrying a guy from Mexico. I do maybe 1 of these every couple of years. They are not my favorite to do. Not many dancers. Last one I did, only about 50 of the 200 guests showed up. Only a first dance and no one danced at all. And the first dance was delayed over 2 hours from schedule in case more people showed up. I felt so bad for them.

Got an email from the Bride that her fiance hired a Mariacci band to come in at 11:00 so I get to stop then. An hour early. I should be home by 12:00.

Pretty simple wedding. A few hispanic songs but not too many. She dumped the intros for the wedding party so just intoducing them.

Put a lot of time in researching music and practicing names just to have it scrapped. Makes it easier though.

Will have some pics online tomorrow.

Yes, good money for not a lot of extra work. I did do some and now they scrapped it but I can use the experience for the next one.

The worse part if the venue. The ceilings are about 8 ft. I am set on a 1 foot stage so I have can barely raise my speakers. My light tree is a pain to use also.

The head table is always right in front of the stage so during speeches, I have to watch for feedback. (yeah, I know get a bose) lol.

But it is a very affordable venue with really good food. Family owned for gotta be 60 years.

It was originally called Noahs ark. the building was the shape of an ark. It burned down 18 years or so ago and they rebuilt.

I will try to find something on it. But as a kid I remember going there.

This can be a very irritating situation to be placed in. Some venues around here set the head table on the stage or the cake is on the stage. I prefer to be off to the side, facing the dance floor.

Let us know how it goes. :)

All in all it wasn't too bad. The mariachi band was late so we went til 11:20. Then they came in and were playing during my last song. So I faded out of it. Opened the mic and said my goodbyes. Got a round of applause.

One of the groomsmen came up and apologized for that. I said no big deal.

Had a bridesmaid take my card and said I will be DJing her wedding in 2 years. I like that.
