Hey all.

I am considering (strongly) advertising for the first time in the company's history!!

I am thinking of participating in the Dewey Beach Music Conference. (http://www.deweybeachfest.com/dbmc/) and one of the option is to add items to a "goodie bag' that ever participant (including the bands) get.

I would like to do something different and original if I do this. You need to submit at least 400 pieces, so price is a consideration as well.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Yup. Avoid driving on Route 1 or 13 on the weekends if at all possible. :D

Dewey is a nice little town that gets overwhelmed with June bugs and tourists.

Pens :)

People actually use pens daily, and they tend to hold them in their hands, and close to their eyes. They are also cheap in bulk.

Don't worry about being too original -- the advertising industry has figured every gimmick you can imagine, and then some. They still sell lots of pens though... ;)

Well, I have been brainstorming a little today, and here is what I have come up with so far:

Ipod/Cell Phone "sock"
dog tags
post it notes
key chains
pens (super cheap I have found)
business cards (of course)

How about guitar picks with your info on them? There are plenty of places to get these made for about the same price as pens. I had a few made just for me a while ago.

Do NOT buy cheap pens. Get good pens. Heavy pens. Metal pens. You do not want to be the pen that doesn't work and gets tossed. You want to be the awesome pen that people hold onto. You want to be the pen that people find a refill for.

I have used PensXpress for years...you can order a sampler of metal pens for $15-ish and try them out. After you pick the one you want, give the extras to the waiter next time you are at a restaurant....they will LOVE you.

I had CD wallets made a few years ago, and those were popular. Today, the iPod sock would probably be better.

A CDRom Business card
