What Genre of Music do you listen to at home? If "Other" please explain.

I am allover the map its a carnival of all genres and it just depends on the mood. I was listening to South African music last night.

Talk Radio. With the Dems screwing up this country so much these days I need to stay up on current events.

I listen to everything from Gwar to the Counting Crows to Dayglo Abortions to Jason Mraz. Really i'll listen to just about anything but my daughters usually end up with control so it's usually current top 40.

young...

I mostly listen to Latin music at home Salsa,Merengue,Reggaeton and Bachata:sqbiggrin:

At home, it'll be classic rock, but it all depends on what is going on. For house work/projects I need some classic hard stuff.

I'm with Jon, all over the place and it depends on my mood.

Mostly Christian.

I also enjoy Jazz, Soul, Funk (thanks Chuck (Papa)), Motown, and Classic Rock.

Very rarely listen to music in the vehicle as I've heard it all before, so I usually listen to a local Talk radio station that actually has local talent during the day, instead of those nation-wide syndicated wankers that pollute today's airwaves. Talk/News radio in the car, since the Republicans have already screwed things up and I need to keep tabs on 'em.:sqwink:

At work, it's either a local station run out of the local area vocational center and is staffed by volunteers and by students. It's the closest thing you'll get to schizophrenic radio. It's freakin' awesome. Will also flip over to the local university's public radio station for some NPR, especially on Saturday mornings.

If I don't have the radio on at work, I'm usually previewing my Prime Cuts weekly disc or listening to miscellaneous stuff on my MP3 player.

At home, it can be almost anything as most have stated it just depends on my mood. If you don't believe me, check out the "What Are You Listening To" thread and you'll see what I mean.

when I am at home or in the car every day I tune in on a different radio station
they can range from any listed above plus some (even talking crap lol)

but locally we have a few stations so I try and see whats playing to see what I should or shouldnt be buying

I think this should be a practice that all Dj's should be doing to prepare on what music is current , what he /she has missed out on and knows what songs are available...

I listen to Americana and Blues primarily. We have two great radio stations here. 89.9 WEVL and 96.1 WIVG. Both are (mostly) commercial-free playing non-commercial music.

On a side note: Why in the world you would group Hip Hop with Blues is beyond me. I hate it when the music retail stores group Blues with Jazz.

I wanted to keep it simple!
