They make nice upsells and deal closers for outdoor parties.
I was just on the phone with a woman who wanted a DJ for July 4th for 4 hours. It is an outdoor event in her backyard. There will be about 100 people in attendance including many kids... I quoted her full rate and she balked a little. This is when I asked about how many kids would be in attendance. She replied "a whole lot".....
At this point I mentioned my bubble party business. I also told her that I normally charge $225 for a Bubble Party, but if she was willing to pay my full rate, I would include a Bubble Party for free for her event. While I was explaining it I had her looking at my BP website.... After reading the site she said "Send me a contract".
So, I have to bring my BP stuff, but I got full rate... and because there will NOT be a full tent, basically I won't have to bring many lights... so it is a nice trade off. I guess it means a TINY bit more work, but I am geting full rate so I sure don't mind.
BTW, I have done this twice before, and even charged an additional $50 for the Bubble Party.
