SOOOO....

On the books, I've got several youth events coming up.

I've got the following added to my must-buy list & add to the collection:

High School Musical 3
Alvin & the Chipmunks Soundtrack
Camp Rock Soundtrack

I am a Prime Cuts member, but want to know what's great for that 'Tween' crowd this year. Keeping it "Clean" is a must!

Thanks!

Cheers,

Joe

The age range would be a place to start. Kids from 9-12 aren't going to dig Alvin all that much. Jonas Brothers they'll like. Check out Radio Disney, there you should get a good insight.

Hannah Montana for the girls, Jock Jam sets if you're careful,......

Joe, 6 months ago I would have agreed with you... but I am seeing a trend of anti - Hannah Montana in the last few months... I have twin daughters who are nearly 8 years old and the seem to have moved on from her... and at my kids parties the kids don't ask for her nearly as much as they used to.

Now it is way more Jonas Brothers and Taylor Swift, even.

Yup - been there. Done that...

State Police, FBI, Child Abuse clearances... got 'em all. Come to think of it, I think that might be a good marketing tool.

Incidentally, these were done as part of a hopes of adopting a child. These are part of our family profile.

Cheers,

Joe

what ages Joe... like 9 - 12?

Chuck, all

Yes - I'd guess 9-12 y/o for the most part.

I've got an elementary school dance coming up on the 24th, a 13th BD party on the 25th (NOT a mitzvah...already checked w/ Mom on that). And a possible "May Fair" - waiting for the date & to see if I'm still available.

Ok on the Alvin stuff - I saw that as part of the one other member's post where he played "Witch Doctor".

Hannah / Miley - Ok - I'll play her by ear -- depending on the requests.

On the one other post about "Let it Rock" - I found that there is a kid-friendly version on Vol #15 of Kidz Rock. Will get that from Amazon.com possibly.

Thanks for the heads-up on the Jonas/Swift scene - Got most of their popular singles through Prime Cuts.

Keep 'em coming!

Thank you,

Joe

Actually, doing a background check is REQUIRED by some of our daycare clients. But even when not, they seem to really appreciate it when I tell tham that we have it. I think it has actually helped close several events... no way of knowing that for sure, but I do think so.

It may have sounded funny coming from me, but there are so many whack jobs out there that these should be a priority for everybody hired at events, hell I would also do it higher up you never know what's out there, even at an adult event women can be in danger. It's sad that our society has reached this point.

Jacob,

No worries - I thought the same thing. Funny, but sad at the same time that this is where our society is today.

But now if you saw the 'ladies' that were dancing at this frat party that Auger & I were witness to .... yeah...:sqerr:

Cheers,

Joe

OOooooohhh, AAAAaaaaahhhhhhh, oooppppsss:sqeek:

Joe,
The light come immediately on. There is no warm up cycle. It is not DMX though.

Background check for a DJ... WTF? :sqeek:

Does this mean I need to check the strippers for proper credentials?

Think on this for a moment gentleman and ladies...

Your fav DJ programmer, has more security clearances than the guy running yer country. He also has a 4 page rap sheet from decades back, for stupid stuff ;)

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost.
It takes time for some to consider,
What all their young foolishness cost...

Some folks learn, and they change. Don't judge every book, by it's original cover -- some are re-printed... ;)

Here in MA if you wish to either work or volunteer in any of our schools you need to do a CORI background check. Can't get in without it. They haven't made that mandatory yet for vendors but it would be a big plus if you you already had one done. There are just to many shady characters who are getting to close to our children. So, it's not a background check for DJ's, it's a background check looking for sex offenders, criminals, etc. You know, the ones who lie, cheat, and steel.:sqwink:
