That is a valid concern lots of webmasters won't add one to their forum for fear of it slowing down forum posting, Personally, really not interested in post numbers. As long as people are learning and enjoying themselves I'm happy.

At any rate, I think of the shoutbox as more of a place to say Hi, how is your day going and/or harass Johnny.
