Had a ceremony and reception today for a friend that I work with. The ceremony and reception were held a new venue for me, The Lake Guntersville State Park Lodge. Very nice place not the easiest loading, but not too bad. There were 3 ceremonies and receptions there today. Since it was Sunday and a state park, no drinks could be bought in or served. Very little dancing except for the regular dances and a about 5 couples slow dancing, but theat is about what we expected.

My regular setup except somehow I forgot to put my Bose light mount poles in my van, not a problem since it was not a big dancing crowd, and it gave me a reason to try something I have been thinking about. I put the two American DJ MegaPanel on the floor behind me, and angled them up the wall. I like the look. I also setup 12 Chauvet LEDRain 56 cans for uplighting. Overall a very nice low key reception, got tons of comments about the sound including a couple from the staff. One of the staff members told me I should go listen to the setup in one of the large rooms. So as I was loading into the elevator next to the room I looked in. THe sound was horrible, there was absolutely no bass at all. The speakers looked like some nice Yamaha cabinets with 15s so there should have been some bass, but there was absolutely none at all. I guess they had a problem and didn't have a clue how to fix it. The groom was walking out with me on my last load and he made the same cooment about the sound. I really wanted to walk in to see if I could help the guys, but the reception was going on and I couldn't crash the reception.

My setup
2L1 4 B1
2 ADJ MegaPanels
1 ADJ Starball II
12 Chauvet LEDRain56 cans

Why the two laptops?

Always carry both of them, backup, plus I use it to let guests listen to songs if they are not sure of the name.

Ah, very good. From your sig pic, I always thought one was for light control but this gig didn't have the moving heads, so that made me wonder...

Hot looking Bride. Don't is suck as we get older they get younger?

Nice clean setup by the way.:sqwink:

She is not really that young mid 30's, this is her second marriage, and has a son about 13. I told her she was the best looking bride I've DJ'd for in years. Got big kiss on the check for that.

Mike, what facade do you use or is that a custom job?

It started out as an Odessey 5ft facade. I took off the center hinges added a folding 4 1/2 ft center section. I connect it together with some latches. I then cut out the bottom sections so the Bose L1 powerstand will recess into it. Next I added some aluminum channel on the top and bottom edges to protect it.

Nice, clean looking setup!

I personally love the simplicity of a couple up-lights at a wedding. My only suggestion would be to center your facade with the wall behind you...but very nice.

Just tryin' to help out where I can. This board is so packed with pro's I never get a chance to offer anything. I'm just that little dog following the big bully dog around the park (did someone put something in my coffee...)

I agree it would have looked better....

Wanted to do that but they also had the ceremony in the same area, and there were tons of chairs right in front of me. I had to setup close to the wall and that light fixture stuck out some. If I had centered on the wall I would have been bumping into the light the whole time.

I'm just insanely jealous, that's all....lol

(can I be the bully dog oh purty please?)
