Video Jocks How about this for a projector stand?

I like it. I think it would be just as stable as a small table.

I made/modified a stand like that for my Bose AWM. I too was afraid of getting it knocked down. What I did was use Industrial Strength Velcro on the bottom of my unit to the top of the flat surface on the stand. You may also want to put some weights on the bottom of the tripod to further stabilize it. I hope this helps.

and there you have it! sweet idea

Not bad, but this is what I use. It works just as well with the Velcro, has better tilting options and provides a nice "rail" around the back/sides of the projector.

It's designed for projectors, but I'm worried about it tilting and the projector falling.

You know it just struck me.... I have a karaoke TV stand that I bet I could take the top off of and mount on a light stand.... then just put some industrial strength velcro down on it and the bottom of a projector and to be extra sure it wont go anyware I could strap it down with the TV strap that came with the stand.....

Like this one altough I'd have to say my stand is better than this one but you get the idea... http://www.acekaraoke.com/audio-2000-ast4202-tv-monitor-stand.html

I don't use it much now that I use an LCD TV.... could be a good way to recycle the stand.

LMFAO..... my fault for not reading the entire thread.... LOL:rofl:

Great idea... evil minds think alike! :sqwink:

Here's another idea

Back when projectors used non-electronic media there was a table made of cast aluminum. Each leg was threaded into a corner and the legs splayed out giving a very stable base. Someone really had to do something very stupid to knock it over but it was very light.

This is similar but doesn't appear to be made as well as the original. Maybe they went out of business because once you bought the original one you didn't need another unless it was stolen or needed two.

I'll look some more to see if it is still around.
