How is your state fairing in the recession

From the people I've talked to in Texas, things aren't great but not as bad as many other places.

5.7% unemployment, no budget deficit, and 1.47% foreclosures? I will take it. Not the best, but probably in the top 10 states to live in right now.

Travis, you ever hear about that thing?

What thing? if this is the show, I called the lady and left a message today. I'm working on it :sqlaugh:

Side note, 3 doors down is coming to town, and I figured instead of working with the IA union... I'd take the easy way and work with the venue instead, in charge of various operations, a no nothing backstage pass job :)

Alabama not too bad, north Alabama seems to be doing very good so far, but if the Democrats do what Democrats have done in the past, and start cutting Military funding and Space Exploration funding, this area can go down fast.

Southern NY is just fine :)

Which is why I'm hanging on to our property. That and the 70,000 gallons of spring water per day... ;)

Still need to come up with a good, catchy name for the spring water -- before I start bottling it... I've decided it's much easier than a brewing operation.

Rick's Mountain Spring Piss Water

Looking at the map I may pop to Utah and get a couple more wives - really I'd like that.

Four wives would be nice mix n match

It sucks here in Central Indiana. Maybe I'm just bitter because I'm in that 7.1% of folks who lost their jobs! Interesting to note, the house I bought was a foreclosed home. Thanks for posting the link to that map, Rick!

Sacramento just hit 9.3% for the region....but I'm not sure if its affecting me or not.

Corporate business is down by 10%.....but wedding business is up 50%, compared to last year at this moment in time.

RockIt Water.

Recession? Fooey. Heck, I've been self-unemployed since August of 2000.

Delaware is in better shape, forclosure-wise but being a small state, unemployment is bad right now.

Rick, I'll have to tell you about the history of Sunroc one day. It started as a bottled spring water company. :)

Seems like a lot of people in NC are moving to Mexico. Seems like a pleasant idea.

I like Mexican folks and made many, many South American friends in California - disgraceful sense of humor and just nice, ordinary people sort of drew me to them

Miss the Mexicans around here

No kidding :)
