this isnt related to DJ info but might help me as I am a DJ and in need of technical help.

My daughter played back a very emotional moment captured on her phone.
To explain.
My daughters cell phone died and so her grandma my Dads wife gave her a moto razer my Dad had discarded as he couldnt make it work for him. (he hated cell phones and computers) He must have inadvertently hit voice record button and talked to someone for around 10 seconds even sharing his wonderful laugh. Trust me it wrenched my heart as she played it over the phone last night for me. However it was a blessing as well.

So fast forward to my need. Anyone please tell me how she can get that message to her computer so she can email it to me? I would dearly love to hear it now and again.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.:sqfrown:

You have to have the Razor software loaded on your computer and then just drag and drop like Windows media Player and I-tunes. otherwise "pop" the micro SD chip out and put it in a reader. The computer will see this as an external drive like a thumb drive and pull the file off that way.

Not familiar with the Razor, but most cells can send to e-mail. Go to the file in the phone, click send, and usually a menu of choices comes up ( Phonebook, New Contact, E-mail) If the phone is out of service, just change sims with one that works, e-mail it, and download to your media file.

I hope you get this and keep it forever. There was a voice mail in 2004 from a friend I wish I could recover. He sent it to me before he boarded a plane going to Afghanistan. Less than 2 weeks later he was killed by an IED. I can kick myself forever for not having it. I'd do almost anything to find it.

If I had no working knowledge of the phone model whatsoever here is what I would have done. It is common knowledge that any cell phone voicemail can be retrieved from a common Land Line. Land Line speakers have Earphone outs ( at leats there are models that do). Hook up the earphone out to a record in device or your computers " IN" and use whatever software you might have, in my case Audacity. Then call voicemail, and while playing, record in real time. Might be a 2,3 or 4 step, but I know it will work.

Im sure theres an easier way, but this is just an idea.

If you do not have a micro SD card underneath the battery, then you'll either have to e-mail it to yourself or plug in the D-sub USB cable (where the charger also plugs in and should have come with your phone otherwise use any D-sub cable) and you should be able to download the memory stored stuff onto your HD.

The Motorola Razr software will let you do this. She'll just need to plug the phone to the computer with the cable Scott mentioned above. It's pretty simple.
