I hope the RIAA gets whats coming to them

The best part is...and it has been mentioned....

the RIAA loses either way.

Thats the key note right there, and it won't soon be forgotten by anyone who has to deal with this RIAA.

I agree with the principle...you steal 7 songs...and that is worth a million bucks.....where is the moral decency??

Someone posted a good comment..if you stole 7 pieces of beef jerky, and you should pay a million bucks to make it right??

Lots of interesting things will come out of this court case, and I hope the RIAA finally gets the big picture.

Judging by their past litigation experience, I wouldn't lay any heavy wagers on the RIAA winning a case right now.

Please, don't get me wrong. It's not acceptable to steal things nor pirate copywrited material. I'm just sayin'... the RIAA's recent practice of using a sledgehammer to swat a fly is pissing off a lot of people in the judiciary. As attorneys, the RIAA should know better.

Gunboat diplomacy is not the solution.

lol its going to look like a circus as usual....

The fine level is the deterrence, since it is well understood that they can't get everyone.

As a professional, I hope that they win. The more that people realize that stealing is wrong the better. The more that get the message to not steal music the better.

Now if we could only get them focused on the DJs that are selling hard drives of music on ebay & craigslist.

Every DJ that considers them a professional should turn these people in to the RIAA, ebay & Craigslist to have them removed.

.
I agree but why stop there. I think we should be turning these people in to the IRS as well. It only takes a few red flags and a simple phone call. After all, what else do we have to do.

While I agree that copyrights should be respected, and those who don't should be liable, what I Do Not agree with is the tactics used by the RIAA that are now coming out to be just as illegal as those who violate the copyrights, let alone the abuse of the courts and legal system.

The conduct of the RIAA in this matter more like that of organized crime dealing with shakedowns and extortion because they can get away with it. IF they wouldn't have been the dinosaurs that they are changed with the times, gave the customers what they wanted, not what they though they should have, and not got greedy trying to preserve the excesses of their industry then maybe they wouldn't have to resort to the drift net search using faulty data and extortion .

but Drax no matter what you or I say or anyone says it will be a circus when it comes to the RIAA

they have done it to themself and people will look at all thats happened that they have tried and cant stop them so they will do it despite what you and I will try to do to stop them as well

if all this is ignored then in my eyes people will get bored and forget about the bad downloading , plus if cd/dvd prices was still a lot cheaper then they wouldnt bother downloading as it was

anyway have a nice day I am off to download knightrider as we dont get it here :)
