I maybe the DJ for a new pro basketball team here in Sacramento. I will be in charge of playing music before the game, during time outs, half time, and after the game. I will also be in charge of half time activities with the fans on the floor. There hoping for crowds around 1000+ per game. Only 15 home games.

What does one charge of this type of service?

Music Director...sounds like fun. With something B-Leauge small like that I would think pay would be around $600 a week and require about 20 hours a week of work. I know a guy that plays the organ for a AA Baseball team and he makes $21,000 a year. (Just an idea and comparison point)

Keep in mind only 15 games but how many will be Fri and Sat causing you to loose money.

What is there budget? Any good business would have a budget in mind for what they can spend. Ask for that then go from there. There are to many factors to give a percise answer since everyone is at different abilitie and skill levels.

1000 to a game? The Monarchs (a top WNBA franchise) sometimes don't even get that many!

Here's a tip: MAKE SURE YOU GET PAID UP FRONT.

I've heard many stories about minor league pro sports franchises going belly-up leaving vendors owed $$$.

And, what Cam said about Saturdays! (that would be a major problem for me)

keep in mind that they could probably burn a few CD's themselves and the announcer could push PLAY....
the half time activities is a different story
they're gonna need a pro for that one!
so...
I agree.
find out what their budget is...
and judge your price accordingly.
they MAY go belly up...
but if it all works out, you could become quite valuable to them.
make sure you figure out how many "well paying" gigs you'll have to pass up
