Big thank you to whoever I stole the

"if you're still in love come up and dance with the bride and groom" line ive been using it for weeks and it works like a charm. Greg did a wedding with me Saturday and saw it for the first time, boy is it cheezy but it packs the dancefloor.

I don't know if you got it from me but I have been using variations of that for years
 
I'd like to think that I first posted this routine. I word it a little differently, but it is essentually the same thing. I could be wrong. The way I word it is: "If you are here with someone who is special to you, someone you love and care deeply about, why don't you prove your love to them by taking them by the hand and bringing them to the dance floor for our next song. Now, if they are not that special to you, just remain in your seats and we will all try to understand."
 
I also add even if you werent considering dancing tonite atleast join the Bride and groom at this time to let them know you support this celebration. (Loosely taken from random spontaneous babble from this old geezer).
 
I have a version that we use on Maui... "If you wanna get lei'd tonight, come onto the dance floor with the one you are with",,, and we hand out lei's....
 
Used to hand out rubber gloves, Wesson oil, and a donkey. Then the venues starting complaining that the gloves were too personal......:sqerr:
 
I sometimes use some variation of inviting all "the happy couples" to join Jill & Jack (never "the bride and groom") on the dance floor, then wait a few moments..."ok, all the unhappy couples, feel free to join Jill & Jack on the dance floor." Always gets a few chuckles and a few more onto the dance floor.
