Yesterday, while I was out.......somebody spammed my Merchant Circle page:

This morning, I decided to retaliate with a terse reply, also on my merchant circle page:

SORRY---Not interested: I'm already quite busy working for two couples on Sept 13 & 14, don't see a valid reason to give up 2k in income for a cheesy Bridal show. Our customers tell us they don't like the way merchants at Bridal fairs harass them (after the show) with follow-up phone calls, postcards, and mailings. They also get a lot of spam too! (Like your pathetic attempt to sell Bridal Fair booths)

I also am going to make sure everyone knows about this organization, and how they are a bunch of spammers.

Anyone who's currently a member of AWFPI should cancel their membership.

I would NEVER belong to an organization that spams web pages!!!

(I am also going to give them a One Star review in Yelp Sacramento--- the AFWPI is based in my area. They will be sorry they f****d with the wrong person......hehe)

I don't know Matt, for me there's a difference between trying to drum up business (marketing) and out and out spamming. This guy obviously took the time to look up DJs in your area so it's more like marketing albeit it boarders on spam but you could have just said no thanks.
 
Sorry, I don't spam other people's blogs. When I make comments on Big Dan's blog (for example), I try to be RELEVANT. I don't make solicitations for my commercial endeavors, and I'm sure the Blogmasters (like Big Dan) appreciate that.

Yelp review has been posted.

It will be indexed by Google in about 2 days....muahahhaha

I'm glad you handled it with your usual tact, charm, and grace.
 
In my vernacular, spamming can take place in a wide spectrum of web activities:

original spam - e-mail spam

new forms of spam-- irrelevant blog comments, postings in Russian at Djgold.com, solicitations by spammers on my Merchant Circle page.

to me, and to the vernacular......."Spamming" is unwanted solicitations on the internet-- period.

Even Junk Mail is now called "Spam Mail" by a lot of people, including our family.
 
I dont know Matt they left a local phone number etc so it was probably more so marketing like Dan Suggested of course its your merchant circle profile so you should dictate what gets by your swarthy security.
