I honestly do not condone the "Everybody-Else-Does-It-So-It's-Okay" philosophy, so I still feel bad.
That said, I know that in the grande scheme of things this is not that "bad."
And I believe that I am justified in doing what I have done after having made such an effort to NOT do it.
I have been engaged with in-depth communication with this weekend's clients, and, just this past weekend, I received an apology for being "bothered" so much. I said, "You are not bothering me."
Nevertheless, I got them back with this.
Hi, ******* and ******. My goal today was to fulfill the rest of your requests; as far as I am concerned, my journey is complete (unless you have any objection, of course). Here is what I have:
Frank Sinatra is covered. I probably have enough Frankie songs to have a "Frankie Night."
I have Barry Manilow's hits on one LP, so he is covered also.
Julio Iglesias truly depends on whether or not the record shop from England complies (I had asked for speedy shipping for a couple or so of his English-language singles, so, whether or not they get to me in time is in The Supreme One's hands).
Dusty Springfield also depends on the shipping; however, her records were ordered from a shop in the U.S.A., and, according to USPS' Express Shipping policies, I should have them before Friday.
Rod Stewart is covered because I have his hits on an LP, as well.
Boyzone is covered, but that group is not cool enough to have a vinyl record.
Fats Domino and the Everly Brothers, as well as any other requests that I had claimed to already have, are still covered.
Now, this is important, regarding FLYING WITHOUT WINGS; BLANKET ON THE GROUND; STAND BY YOUR MAN; and THOSE WERE THE DAYS, MY FRIEND.
I absolutely do not condone using anything but legal music; however, there is no time to look for these songs on vinyl (as, even if they are available, I have already exceeded my budget on Express shipping for other titles); these songs are not available through the legal Audio Video Licensing Agency of Canada website from which I am licensed to download music; and none of the four CD shops in Abbotsford have these titles. So, in desperation, I consulted my niece, who uses Limewire, and got these songs. Now, if you know anything about Limewire, then you know that certain information on that site might not be accurate; regardless, please note the following:
I had never heard FLYING WITHOUT WINGS before, but I am confident about assuming that I have the correct song.
BLANKET ON THE GROUND (according to Limewire listings) is performed by Tammy Wynette--my research on the internet proved this, as far as I am concerned, to be correct.
STAND BY YOUR MAN has no issues. I know the song very well and I now have it.
THOSE WERE THE DAYS, MY FRIEND is listed under many different artists, as many artists perform this song. The two most prevalent artists on Limewire are Mary Hopkins (who did the original?) and Patsy Cline. We downloaded "Patsy Cline"; afterward, however, more internet research showed that Patsy Cline had never performed this song. The song that I downloaded sounds very much like the version I heard on a Mary Hopkins You Tube video--but it still sounds different. In conclusion, I have no idea who sings this version of THOSE WERE THE DAYS, MY FRIEND, in my collection; however, I recognise the tune, and it sounds like it may even be just another version by Mary Hopkins (?--this is the case with many popular songs, like THE TWIST).
I believe that I have covered everything.
If you have any concerns and/or questions, then please let me know.
Part 2:
While I sure am grateful for all of the busy true business people around here who take the time out of their busy schedules to educate schmucks similar to me about how to stop being such a charity, I have to admit that I find that the universe seems to grow with positivity just a little bit, just as I grow as a human being every time I do something that matters to somebody else, other than just giving them what they paid for.
Here was the response from ****** (as opposed to *******, who has not yet replied--note that ******* is the one who thought that she might be "bothering" me, but little does she know that I like "bothering" people, especially brides):
Wow, you have gone way beyond what I expected Johnny - really I was quite happy to leave it in your very capable hands; it is after all your profession and I am sure you know what you are doing. But I have to say I am extremely grateful for you going the extra mile like this.
Really, if some of the songs aren't played for any reason or have Limewire issues, it's not at all a problem.
I am picking the key up on Friday at around 4 - what time would you like to meet at the hall? I am hoping to be there at around 4.30 / 5pm.
******
I think that this anonymous person likes me, so I am going to suggest 3:30pm--this way, there might be some time for some nookie with this anonymous male or female being.
That said, I know that in the grande scheme of things this is not that "bad."
