How about this ABBA-mania that's been happening?

I have always received requests for ABBA (Dancing queen, I do I do I do, Etc.) It looks like with this movie "Mama Mia" I may have to increase my ABBA library further.

Rumor has it each of the 4 members of ABBA have been offered around 700 million dollars each to do a reunion concert....and they still refused!

I've heard the musical alone has made billions of dollars.

Is this crazy or what?

Because people love to dance (it's in our genes) and all you have to do is play some ABBA music...

Even though music has been going around in circles every so often (Things are rerecorded by somebody else) ABBA has always made people dance.

because you can not dance to Metallica

Although the show/movie is building awareness, I don't think the ABBA craze has stopped since it started in the 70s. That's like asking what's with The Michael Jackson craze?

Ah, but not everyone wants to dance to Metallica - they want to rock out! I've played some of their tunes at 2 weddings within the past month!

As for ABBA, I think that the musical and the movie are helping, along with other movies. Despite that, I think it's appropriate to say that some of ABBA's tunes are timeless.

no matter how much you hate abba you dont control what you get its your Clients

if they want it then they should have it
just put ear plugs in and ignore the song when you play it...

How do you ignore a song what you're playing it while on the job? Better question: Why would you want to ignore a song? How do you complete song transitions if you're ignoring one of the songs?

When ABBA first hit big I really hated them and the music (hey I was a Glam Rocker and Funk Loving PT DJ)

Now? Love 'em - happy music for happy times.

btw When they first hit big in the UK it was because of the "shockingly" embarrassing Eurovision Song Contest

QUICK someone play some ABBA for Cam :sqwink:

You will learn over time how to block out songs on the job
come back in say 20x years after you have done this and tell me then if you have blocked out some songs you really really HATE

but remember your a professional and what the client wants they get (I just dont have to listen to every song every min of the function) Do I ?
