Saturday's wedding. She sent the e-mail about an hour ago:

we heard of a really fun idea for the garter that will TOTALLY get Neal, I hope you're down for it because he will just die!! ha ha ha I'm laughing just thinking of it. and we've never seen it before so he'll be totally surprised. Before we do the garter he has to be able to guess which leg is his bride's but while blind folded. So the best man will blind fold him with a napkin and direct him where to go. PUll some chairs on the dance floor and have me sit amongst the groomsmen, we pull our pants/skirt up and he has to feel all of our legs. When he's sure he's found me, obvously not a hairy leg :), before the best man lets him take the blind fold off, have my mom come sit where I was so when he looks to see if he got it right he thinks he felt my mom's leg!....then go into the regular garter thing....
Already told my mom about it, she's totally down and ready for it. I didn't tell anyone else though so the groomsmen can just follow your lead so they'll be surprised too! I'm hoping you're willing to do this!

I have done that numerous times.....almost always a hoot. I like that better than the regular old garter removal, and bouquet toss......makes the night go faster. Most of the time I will put the bridesmaids in a line, and they borderline freak out thinking that the groom is going to feel their legs, but always put the bride in the chair that he is actually feeling. Typically I will put the grooms dad, or the bride's dad in the last chair, for fun......I also ask the groom which one he thought was his wife, which is fun.


Not always used, as a lot of people want more classy activity, but I would say 20% of the time, I do this.
 
Since it was the Bride's idea and she's cool with it, I say go for it and have fun. :thumbsup:

That sounds too easy with all the legs being hairy except fot the brides. I've seen it done with using all the bridesmaids, throw in one hairy legged groom, a kid if present and if you can find maybe the bride's grandmother, add her too! It is much more difficult with more yound ladies in the mix and the guy had better get it right or he's in trouble! If he guesses the MOH, eyebrows will go up!

One little tip, instead of having everyone sit in a chair, have them stand and just put their foot on the chair. It looks way better and the groom doesn't have to go up and down like a crazy. Well, not until the honeymoon that is...

Fair is fair in love and war... and weddings! Soooo, if she is going to surprize him with that game, then I think it's only fair for the groom to surprize her! Email him with this game idea... Blind-fold the bride and have her find her husband in a line up. The line up will consist of the other groomsman, maybe a bridesmaid (I kissed a girl!), a kid if handy and even an old guy (they like participating in this!). The only difference being, the men will be facing away from the bride and she will have to find her hubby by feeling their bums. That's right, their butt-cheeks! This is fine with the guys because we don't mind other woman feeling our butts, it's all good! And wait till you hear the laughter! Play some I'm Too Sexy and you're set!

You can't do one contest without the other. That's how we do it out here on the West Coast!

Great idea, except DON'T email the groom. You can't tip the groom off about the first contest, so let the second contest be a surprise for both of them.
