No news is good news, I guess. :)

Then when we got to the reception, our deejay wasn't there, as he was rushed to the hospital. I felt like we couldn't catch a break. I must say that our replacement deejay was great though.

Not too bad. At least it shows the DJ's professionalism in making sure there was a suitable replacement available!

Papa & Fred: Kinda been saying this for a few years (a slight few rotten apples in a huge barrel of good ones) for which this old posterior has taken on some serious flack from blind gunners.

Feeling a bit philosophical this morning and, in view of the prevailing attitude of the current forum posting class, offer this observation for what it's worth.

Seems most of the negative terms used in this business were developed by inside [DJ] folks who either have financially or reputationally gained by beating those gloom and doom shields, couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag so they gotta blame somebody else, or climb their life's ladder on the backs of human negativity.

It seems that besides the funeral home business, few other industries other than entertainment are glad when a colleague fails or goes belly up.

Each person's invisible inner world is comprised of fear, worry, expectations, intentions and reasons, and is as a real part of them as their physical exterior. We only see the actions of others while forgetting to consider those invisible inner fears, worries, expectations, and intentions when scrutinizing or judging. And in that, our own as well.

It's a hard thing to remember and keep in mind, a personal failing of my own.

I love that word (from the Germans) --- Schaudenfreud (sp?)

cannot be translated into english, but it basically refers to the phenomena where we love to see people beaten down off their high horse.
