Ok so the American Group is pushing this SD line pretty hard but arent they still a few years behind in technology? They say that it loads up quicker because its not a hard drive but i tell you from the second i power on my denon with 9,000 songs in it, to the time i can push play is MAYBE and i mean MAYBE 10 seconds.

I can wait 10 seconds for a far superior product but really though my question is isnt SD going a couple steps back?

Im waiting to see a denon hd2500 type machine with an output for a decent sized monitor.

but alas all i do with it is cheat the system and use it to run SERATO in TIMECODE mode not midi.

I read somewhere that to search on the SD units you have to scroll through all the files in the folder.

Well the REAL problem is that while they say they take 4 gig SD cards, it isn't easy to get 4 gig cards that are NOT SDHC cards - which they are not compatible with. In fact, I actually have not been able to locate a single 4 gig SD card that is not SDHC.

So, realistically you are limited to 2 gig per card.

Maybe you can find them...

I don't remember that to be the case when I saw it in Vegas... I may be wrong, though.
